It has been a long journey. From playful moments with friends on dusty pitches to demanding and meticulous (but caring) training sessions with Coach Nana (a soft spoken coach who demands growth and excellence from each player)the journey to Sweden has not been straight. Nevertheless, it validates that this player, Ablido (as he is often called), has the qualities to stand toe-to-toe with global talents.
At 5'10''-5'11" tall, Ablido is a physically chiseled, hardworking, tough tackling, and strong midfielder, who is blessed with a powerful engine that takes him from box to box, with speed and precision, coupled with the ability to gracefully end attacking moves with a goal or an assist. He is the protector of the defense line, and the first to start attacking moves, irrespective of whether he plays as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder, or as a box-to-box midfielder. He is known for his accurate passes, both aerially and on the ground, effective tackles, goals, and assists. These attributes place him in a strong position to play in a variety of formations. Technically, heâs first touch gives him the time and space to cause damage to the opposition, when on the ball. Off the ball, he has the tactical understanding of the game, and strong athletic qualities to tackle, intercept and dominate the midfield. He has also shown an ability to play as a right-winger, who either inverts into central midfield to dominate possession for heâs team, or becomes an outlet to make crosses into the box.
He is a graduate of the famed Progen Academy in Ghana, and has played in various international tournaments, such as the Gothia Cup, and Norway Cup. He began to make a name for himself in Ghana, while playing for Progen FC in Division 3 and Division 2 of the Ghana Football League. This led to him being called to the Ghana U20 national team.
And then came Hammerby TFF, where he is currently on loan. Hammerby TFF play in the Ethan Norra League (3rd Division in Sweden) and they are the reserve/second team of Hammarby IF, who play the Allsvenskan (the Sweden premier division).
Last season, when Ablido first moved from Ghana to Sweden, he played in 18 matches, scored 3 goals, and provided 1 assist, along with multiple successful tackles and interceptions for Hammerby TFF. This is an all-round midfield player, with interesting box-to-box qualities; defensively and offensively. The 2025 season has begun, more scouting eyes will be on Ablido, both within Sweden and across Europe.
Ablido is a player who would form a strong midfield engine for any club that is looking for a young and mature-minded central midfielder, with qualities such as being able to play in diverse roles, being open to learning, having intense endurance levels, good technical qualities, contributes effectively to attacking moves, protects the defense passionately, has a humble personality and is not afraid to exhibit leadership qualities to get he's team into winning positions.
